Last Saturday I was walking home from taking a photo at Mirador de San Nicolas with my fellow Lawrentians when I heard music coming from the plaza in front of the Cathedral. So I went to go check out the performance that was happening there this week. This time, it was more than just a music performance in the plaza. There were tons of people and booths set up. Most of the booths were selling all sorts of different handicrafts, but some had demonstrations of people making the crafts, and others had food. I kept on walking to another nearby plaza. This one had even more things going on, including a giant chess game, a puppet show stage, and donkey rides. It kind of reminded me of the Christmas Markets I went to in Germany last year, except it wasn't Christmas-y or German at all, but rather more Middle Eastern. I enjoyed looking around, and did some shopping for presents.
The next day, Sunday, I was going for a walk and came to the same general area as these plazas. My intention was to go back to where I had been the day before to further explore those booths, but instead I ended up in a different plaza that had more of the same idea. This one had something the other ones didn't: a display of birds of prey from all over the world. They had eagles, owls, and other such animals, all on a row of little pedestals.
